As we bid farewell to 2023, let’s take a moment to reflect on the canvas of our lives. Annual self-retrospectives offer an invaluable opportunity to acknowledge our growth, celebrate achievements, and learn from challenges. I’d like to share some questions, tips to help you navigate through your reflections and set the stage for an inspiring 2024.

Reflecting 2023:

Review your monthly reviews if you have :) Reviewing past moments, highlights from each month of the past year will help you to recall your memories. I really enjoy journaling in both digital and physical notebook so basically I go through past months over the year and remember what happened.

Let’s get started!

2023 was the year that I…. (complete the sentence)

List all your highlights & accomplishments from 2023.

Questions you may ask to yourself:

What did I accomplish this year? List them (find the little things too).

What worked in 2023? (some habits, thoughts, mindset, belief)

Who were the people that mattered the most to me?

What were the moments of pure joy that I experience in 2023?

What didn’t work in 2023? (name at least 3 failures/ mistakes you had this year and what you learned from them)

What might I want to do differently in the next year?

What moments did I feel at my worst or lowest in 2023?

What did I learn in 2023? (skills, lesson learned)

What about 2023 am I most grateful for? (short or as long as you want)

Review the areas of your life such as finances, career, health, school, home, mental health, social, family, friends, learning.

so that is your 2023 review.

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there”. — Theodore Roosevelt

My theme for 2024 is …..(finish the sentence)

What are my main goals for 2024? and know your why!

What do I want to create more of in 2024?

Make a vision board.

Make a bucket list (either for entıre life or for the next year).

Look at your calendar for 2024 (academic calendar, personal calendar. work etc). You may wanna plan some trips.

New year new me :)

It could be just something makes you slightly different. Be creative!

When planning 2024,if your life was your greatest work of art, how would that change how you live? How would you spend your days? Who would you spend them with? Where would you live? What would you learn? What would you create? What risks or adventure would you take?

Hope it was helpful to you and I encourage you to dedicate some thoughtful moments to reflect on the past year and earnestly plan for the upcoming one.

Feel free to share some of your reflections or plans for the new year in the comments below.

Wishing you a Happy New Year!
